Learn to read basic structures pack teacher or parent resources
This CD pack comprises all Clever Classroom’s learn to read with basic structures. We have named the level 0 as they are one level lower than level 1 in guided reading. Learning to read and write goes hand in hand. However when explicitly learning how to be literate, teachers need to first focus on reading. Reading skills inform our spelling and writing skills. This resource offers both reading and writing teaching resources for the early childhood classroom or even home environment. They all come as PDF files on CD with smart cover for you to save and print your resources.
On you CD you get:

A set of 9 general level 0 books, all in colour and black and white for you to print, staple and use. 3. 9 level 0 farm themed books, all in colour and black and white for you to print, staple and use. 4. A set of 10 zoo animals level 0 books, all in colour and black and white for you to print, staple and use. A 5 page instruction guide is also included to help you teach your child how to read. 5. Level 0 reading cards- read the structure and either find something to orally complete the sentence or model writing with a whiteboard marker. 6. Level 0 handwriting cards – children trace inside the words once laminated and complete the sentence. Or simply print off and trace the words using a pencil. 7. Level 0 sentence builders/joiners – laminate, and cut out for children to join together to build on the strategies; Does it make sense? Look at the picture and does it sound right? These are some basic reading strategies for emergent readers. 8. Make a sentence – level 0 – Children cut and paste sentence, put back together using the list of sentences. Or teachers may want to laminate 2 sets for small groups to work with in a literacy session. 9. Basic structures fill in the sentence – like a close passage but with cards to add to complete each sentence. This activity has 26 sentence strips with A-Z cards to place in the sentence. Laminate or simply print, cut and paste cards. 10. Level 0 worksheets BLM – 30 pages of cut and paste and un-jumble the sentence, fill in the missing words, complete the sentence all using the basic sentence structures.
